Margaret Leona (Berry) Ross, 87,
Margaret Leona (Berry) Ross, 87, of Wyalusing, PA, passed away unexpectedly at her New Albany home on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2011. She was born Aug. 5, 1923 in Windham, a daughter of the late William and Violet Berry.
Margaret was the wife of the late V. Ward Ross and they were married in 1943 in Nichols, NY. They lived in LeRaysville where they worked a farm for 25 years and retired in 1972 to Allis Hollow Rd. She loved gardening; canning, cooking, houseplants, had a real green thumb for African Violets and Geraniums. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Montrose and always thankful for her church family.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Lou Kobbe of New Albany; three grandsons, Timothy, Daniel and Christopher; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia (Berry) Fitzgerald, Betty (Berry) and Robert Quick and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, V. Ward on April 1, 2011; a son, John Ward Ross in 1994; a grandson, Gary Leon Kobbe in 2005; two brothers, Hudson and William (Bill) and wife Sandy Berry, and a sister and her husband, Beatrice (Berry) and Bruce Lent.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 9 in the South Hill Cemetery, Orwell Twp., Herrickville, at 1 p.m.
Flowers will be provided for by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels.
