Mr. Robert L. Heft, Sr., 61
He was born in Phillipsburg, NJ on July 20, 1943, son of the late Howard E. and Nellie O. Snyder Heft.
Mr. Heft was employed by Garden State Farms where he worked in the Ice Cream Department for 20 years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, following his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed watching boxing. While he was not at work, he enjoyed cooking for his family.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, the former Ruth Kathy Kupcha, whom he married on June 24, 1967; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Rob), Jr. and Jamie Heft, Lawton; his daughter, Julie Ryan, Nicholson; three brothers, Donald Heft of Oxford, NJ, Ronald Heft of Glen Gardner, NJ and Gary Heft of Raubsville; two sisters, Shirley Black of Oxford, NJ and Randi Prostak of Lebanon Station, NJ; five grandchildren, Danielle Ryan, Kimber Ryan and Jordan Brown of Laceyville and Robert Heft, III and James Heft of Lawton and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Caitlin Heft in 1991 and a brother, Richard Heft in 2003.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 13, at 2 p.m. from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, with Rev. John P. Shepherd, Jr. of the Tunkhannock Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in the North Flat Cemetery in Laceyville. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
