Mr. Stanley Robert (Bobby) Oliver, Jr.
Mr. Stanley Robert (Bobby) Oliver, Jr. of 805 Oliver Rd., Meshoppen, PA passed away at the Asera Care Hospice in Peckville, PA on Monday afternoon, June 13, 2011 after a long illness. Born in Meshoppen, on Dec. 24, 1951, he was the son of the late Stanley Robert, Sr. and Jessie Yale Oliver. Growing up and spending most of his life around Meshoppen, he was a graduate of the Elk Lake High School, class of 1970.
After his graduation from high school, Bobby stayed near Meshoppen, where he worked many jobs throughout his life. For many years, he was a truck driver for Bub Kintner Trucking in Meshoppen, and for the last few years, he was a self- employed truck driver, for Trail Boss Trucking, his company in Meshoppen.
In his spare time he enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, and spent many hours in his garden, and loved to hunt and fish. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his children, Howard Oliver and his companion, Amy God of Lawton; Laura Lee Oliver of Victoria, TX and Brandy and her husband, Scott Gregory of Auburn Center; his three grandsons, Michael Thomas of Ohio, Steven McIlwain of Texas and Ryan Gregory of Auburn Center. He is also survived by a sister, Jean Jayne of Meshoppen and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Grieve on Aug. 10, 1997, and a brother, Warren Prevost on June 15, 1999.
At Bobby’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice.
