Mrs. June M. Truesdale, age 84
Born on Sugar Hill, Bradford County, on June 8, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Ephraim and Mildred Fenton Wilcox. Mrs. Truesdale was the wife of the late Raymond Truesdale, who passed away on Jan. 18, 1993.
Mrs. Truesdale was a graduate of the Wyalusing High School, Class of 1938, after which she was a seamstress, working at clothing factories, retiring from Meshoppen Manufacturing in 1992 after working there for 23 years.
She was a member of the Meshoppen United Methodist Church, secretary of the WSCS for 35 years and a member of the Meshoppen Senior Citizens Club.
Surviving are a stepson and his wife, William and Carolyn Truesdale of Ft. Worth, TX; a daughter-in-law, Nelda Truesdale, Ft. Worth, TX; a brother, Fenton Wilcox, Towanda; four sisters, Betty Marbaker, Retta, Mary Shatinsky and long-time companion, Pete Brozonis, with whom she lived, Laceyville, Charlotte Anderson, Wyalusing and Lil Jayne of Laceyville; five grandchildren and 21 nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a stepson, Wyoming County Sheriff Robert Truesdale; a sister, Ruth Startzel and four brothers, Oliver Wilcox, Ephraim Wilcox, Louis Wilcox and Fayette Wilcox.
Funeral and committal services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 7 at 2 p.m. the Meshoppen United Methodist Church, with Rev. Sandra L. Yerton of the church and Rev. William Nelson of the Beaver Meadows United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Overfield Cemetery in Meshoppen. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of the service. Arrangements were made through the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Meshoppen.
