Robert Walton Wade, age 83
He was born on Dec. 18, 1920 in Mayview, WA, a son of the late Alvin L. and Alta L. Fanning Wade.
On Oct. 1, 1955, he married Rosemary (Rosie) Hugo. His wife preceded him in death on May 16, 1999.
Prior to retirement, he was employed by Dupont. He had also been employed by PENNDOT, owned a gas station in East Towanda and in his early years, worked for several local farmers.
Mr. Wade was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Elkland.
He enjoyed fishing and gardening and time spent with his family and many friends.
Surviving are his children, Robin and James Richlin of Towanda; Glenn Wade of Dushore; a special niece, Karen Glosenger of Towanda; a sister, Bonita Wade of Clarkston, WA; a brother, Delbert Wade of Clarkston, WA; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Glosenger of Towanda and Yvonne M. (Horst) Huneke of California; a brother-in-law and his wife, Richard and Grace Hugo of New Albany; his four grandchildren, Brian Richlin, Wade Richlin, Jonathon Wade and Caleb Wade, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Elkland, with the Rev. Robert W. Martin, his pastor, officiating.
Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends and family called on Monday, Aug. 2 at the Russell P. McHenry Funeral Home, 119 Carpenter St., Dushore, from 5 to 8 p.m.
