Roxannah M. Kraus, 98,
Roxannah M. Kraus, 98, formerly of Laporte, PA, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Golden Living Center, Tunkhannock.
Born Nov. 28, 1912 in Nordmont, Sullivan County, she was a daughter of the late Llewellyn and Mary Ryder Little. Her husband of 65 years, Gerald E. Kraus, preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1999.
She attended the former King’s Elementary School, Laporte, and graduated from Muncy High School. She was employed at various resorts in Eagles Mere and Central Valley, NY and as a seamstress at many local factories. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Nordmont, and enjoyed gardening, crafts and spending time with her family.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald (Irene) Kraus and George (Eleanora) Kraus, both of Forkston; three daughters, Donna (Roger) Otten of Forkston, Mary Naylor of Springville and Kathleen (Donald) Allender of Michigan; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great- grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Roxannah was preceded in death by a daughter, Susanne Brown; a grandson, Jerome Nagle; a nephew, Raymond Little; a brother, John Little, and a son-in-law, Donald Naylor.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 16, at the Forkston United Methodist Church, Forkston, with Pastor Jean Swett officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Nordmont. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
The family will provide flowers and suggests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of choice.
