Walter E. DeWolf, 92,
Walter E. DeWolf, 92, passed from this life Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg, PA. Born Oct. 7, 1918 in Mehoopany, he was the son of Silas Taylor and Emma Poole DeWolf.
He graduated in 1937 from Laceyville High School. He served stateside in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Most of his life he worked for the Department of Defense as a quality control inspector, residing in Lock Haven for 50 years. Most recently he made his home in Middletown at the Middletown Home Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Moser DeWolf, his siblings, Millicent Willson, George H. DeWolf, Kathryn Ackerman and Harold S. DeWolf.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Foltz, wife of Steve of Palmyra and a son, Walter DeWolf, Jr., husband of Carole of Berthoud, CO; a brother, Donald J. DeWolfe and wife, Louise of Meshoppen; seven grandchildren, Nicole Benner, John Foltz, Karen Stover, Arron King, Laurie Troxell, Carrie Drown and Rebekah Cunningham and 12 great-grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held at the Jenningsville United Methodist Church, Jenningsville, on Saturday, May 28 from 10 to 11 a.m. A memorial service at the church will follow. Interment will be at Vaughn Cemetery, Mehoopany.
