Advance Tickets on Sale for Wine Festival

The first annual Wyalusing Valley Wine Festival is quickly approaching and now is the time to order advance tickets for the Sept. 18th event on the grounds of the Wyalusing Valley Museum Barn across from the high school. Those advance tickets can be purchased for $20 right now and through next week at Ace Hardware, as well as the Wyalusing Hotel and the Wyalusing Valley Museum itself.

For more information or to reserve your tickets, call 746-7789, 746-2324 or 746-6156.

Those tickets include a free commemorative wine tasting glass to sample the wines from the five Pennsylvania wineries who will be there, as well as three food tickets. The festival will be held between noon and 5 p.m. come rain or shine.

Tickets on the day of the festival will be sold for $24. There will also be special $5 tickets for those under 21 or who are coming with friends as designated drivers. That's a way to still enjoy the festival, including the food, fellowship and entertainment that will be there.

Entertainment includes live local talent at slated times, including the Wyalusing Swing Choir, the Wyalusing Adult Band, the classical guitar of Frank Galante and Justin Kilmer, singing and dancing through selections from "Aladdin." Keeping the music and entertainment going will be "DJ Joe."

This is truly a community event, with the Wyalusing Valley Museum, the Wyalusing Lions and Lioness and the Wyalusing Valley Volunteer Fire Department coming together to benefit the community. Proceeds will help these organizations with their stated missions and community programs.

Thanks to the fire company and Chris Woodruff at the Wyalusing Hotel, there will be all kinds of food, including a pork dinner, roast beef and sausage sandwiches and pizza, as well as a variety of non-alcoholic beverages. The LeRaysville Cheese Factory will also be represented.

Also around the grounds will be displays and booths by other area museums and a number of non-profit organizations, ranging from the two county political parties to conservation groups.

The festival is located across from the Wyalusing Valley High School. From Rt. 6 east, turn right over the overpass and you're almost there.
