Bradford Commissioner Candidate Bows Out of Race

The field of Republican candidates for Bradford County Commissioners vying for two positions on the November ballot is down to three.

On Monday of this week, Don Fitzwater informed the news media by email that he was "officially withdrawing his candidacy from the Republican Ticket for county commissioner in the May 17th primary." His statement was addressed to the residents of the county.

"After two months of active campaigning, I have finally come to realize I am not a politician, nor have I been comfortable running a campaign," Fitzwater stated. "I kept hoping this would get easier for me as it went along, but I found out this was not for me.

"In the best interest of the three remaining Republican candidates and the residents of this county, it is time for me to withdraw my campaign completely."

He offered a heartfelt thanks to all who have supported him and helped him on the campaign trail.

"This was a very difficult decision for me to make at this time," Fitzwater reported.
