Santorum on Senate Divisiveness: It's Been Rancorous

The Pennsylvania Senator may have come to Bradford County on political business, but he is clearly frustrated by the inability to get things done in Washington, D.C., this election year.

"Politics is just infused in everything we do," Sen. Rick Santorum told a gathering Thursday afternoon in Towanda. "It has been rancorous."

Santorum was offering an update on what is going on in the U.S. Senate and made it clear that though there is a lot going on, there is little being done. As the Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference and one of President Bush's most vocal supporters, Santorum was scheduled to speak last night (Wednesday) at the Republican National Convention. Though he said he couldn't provide a preview on what he was going to say, he joked that he was far from a keynote speaker at the GOP gathering in New York City.
