Search is on for Wyalusing’s Citizen of Year
By David Keeler
The Wyalusing Rainbow Club is seeking nominations for the 2011 Citizen of the Year Award, which the club presents annually.
The award, which will be presented at a banquet in January, pays tribute to Wyalusing area residents who play a significant role in improving the quality of life in the community. Those who receive the award do not need to be Rainbow Club members.
This year’s award will be presented at a banquet set to take place on Friday, Jan. 13 in the Tuscarora-Wayne Community Room at the Chamber of Commerce Building at 20 Main Street, Wyalusing. The buffet dinner will be catered by the Wyalusing Hotel.
Send nominations for this year’s award and a brief description of why you feel your nominee should receive the award to: GWCC, PO Box 55, Wyalusing, PA 18853 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information, call Wendy Gaustad at 570-746-4922.
Previous recipients of Wyalusing’s Citizen of the Year Award include: Vincent “Bill” Bendinsky, Don and Nancy Newell, Wayne Felter, Bill and Gladys Miller, Mary Ann Raffin, Mary Jane Tompkins, Bob and Lynn Westover, Tom and Jody Miller, Bill and Caryl Snyder and Marvin and Maxine Meteer.
