Bruins Lose Shootout

The Northern Tier Bruins tried but didn't have enough firepower to keep up with Western Massachusetts in a 49-21 road loss on Aug. 21.

Western Massachusetts quarterback Chris Borders shredded the Bruins' defense, throwing for five touchdowns and 339 yards in the victory.

Receiver Mark Gee had four touchdown receptions, including a pair of 80-yard scores for the Blitzen Bears.

The Bruins, now 5-3, opened the game on a high note when quarterback Jamie Kendrick hit Jeremy Kendrick with a 65-yard scoring toss in the first quarter.

Northern Tier's other scores came on a seven-yard run by Donnie Jackson-Bey and a two-yard run by backup quarterback John Wylie.

Jamie Kendrick and Wylie combined for 11 completions on 28 attempts for 293 yards and four interceptions.

Northern Tier returns to action Saturday when they host Willingboro in their final home game of the season. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
