College Roundup: WVHS Grad Has Solid Season Debut for Susquehanna Softball

Sarah Hoffman, a Wyalusing Valley graduate and sophomore on the Susquehanna University softball team, tossed a two-hitter in an 11-0 win over Thomas College in Orlando, FL, on March 6.

She had 10 strikeouts and allowed just two walks.



Penn Tech Baseball

A pair of Wyalusing Valley graduates—senior Jared Johnson and sophomore Branden Johnson—are members of the Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball team.

Jared Johnson, a rightfielder, is one of the top returners from last year's squad that finished 12-11, overall, and placed fourth in the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference.

Branden Johnson is listed as an outfielder.

The team's first two dates were postponed. The season opens with the spring trip to Myrtle Beach, SC.



Misericordia Men's Basketball

The Cougars, coached by Wyalusing Valley graduate Trevor Woodruff, had their season end with a 76-59 loss to Wesley College in the first round of the ECAC South playoffs on March 2.

Ethan Eichhorst led Misericordia, which finished the season with a 15-12 record, with 24 points.
