Huffman Places at NEPA Invitational
Erika Huffman earned a sixth-place medal at the Northeast Pennsylvania Invitational at Bloomsburg University on Oct. 1.
The Wyalusing Valley junior completed the course, which will be used for the District Four championships on Oct. 27, in a time of 19:41, 58 seconds behind race winner Rachel Magliane of Danville.
The Lady Rams, running two girls short, finished 16th in the team standings with 410 points. Danville won the team title with 49 points.
Arielle Kneller was 93rd, overall, in 23:16. Other overall places and times were Savannah Schools (115, 24:14), Logan Steele (122, 24:51), Carlyn Edsell (125, 25:02) and Emily Edwards (134, 25:49).
The boys’ team finished 11th with 281 points. Canton won the team title, edging Sayre, 148-151.
Aaron Woodruff paced the Rams with a 25th-place finish in 17:08.
Tyler Sutton and Brenten Gerould both finished well. Sutton was 35th in 17:37, while Gerould placed 42nd in 17:47.
Other finishers included Mark Kusmierz (62, 18:14), Mitchell Pickett (127, 19:16), Matt Woodruff (147, 19:44) and Jordan Schools (173, 20:42).
The meet at Cowanesque Valley, including Northeast Bradford and Mansfield, originally slated for Tuesday, Oct. 4, was rescheduled for today, Oct. 6.
Wyalusing concludes the regular season at Towanda on Oct. 11. Wellsboro will also compete.
