Jennings, Raiders Fall Short at ASA Gold Nationals


Brianna Jennings, a Wyalusing Valley graduate and member of the Conklin Raiders, singled and drove in a run during a 3-1 loss to Fort Worth Bat Busters at the Amateur Softball Association’s Gold National Tournament in San Diego, CA, on July 28.

Her hit in Conklin’s opening game of the championship bracket plated Kelly Costello, who led the Raiders with a pair of hits.

Olivia May added a double for the Raiders.

Jennings pitched five innings in the loss, giving up eight hits and two runs.

The Raiders’ tournament came to an end on Thursday, July 28 with a 1-0 loss to Lake Breeze Birch from Washington.

Jennings tossed a three-hitter in the loss with three strikeouts.

The game’s only run came in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Jennings singled, while May had a pair of hits for the Raiders, who finished with six hits.

Conklin concluded the tournament with a 1-3 record. For the season, the Raiders went 33-18-1.
