Local Gymnasts Qualify for Nationals
Twenty-six members of the Endless Mountains Gymnastics (EMG) Eagles team are qualified for the United States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs (USAIGC) national championships, slated for Palm Springs, CA, June 25-July 1.
Eagle gymnasts competed in two national qualifying tournaments in recent weeks at Amityville, NY, and York, PA.
According to Liz Albert, EMG coach and co-owner, the required qualifying scores were raised, but the locals all exceeded the standard in their levels to qualify for the national meet.
“The coaching staff at EMG is very happy with the progress of the gymnasts this year and believes a number of them have the potential to medal at the national meet,” Albert said.
In the most recent meet, at York, Annie Clauser, competing in the Gold 16-up level, won the all-around, vault, bars and beams.
