N.T. Bruins Overwhelm Opponent

If it were a fight, they would have stopped it.

The Northern Tier Bruins crushed the undermanned Willingboro Bears Saturday night, 42-8, to improve to 6-3.

Willingboro showed up an hour late for Saturday night's scheduled 7 p.m. clash with only 10 players.

The game started with Willingboro playing a man short and with a continuous clock. The 11th Willingboro player arrived near halftime.

The Bruins' Donnie Jackson-Bey scored on runs of 14 and 23 yards. He finished with 158 yards on nine carries and passed the 1,000-yard mark for the season.

Wyalusing Valley graduate Justin Jones scored on a 13-yard run.

Will Williams added a seven-yard scoring scamper. Steve Polzella had a four-yard touchdown run.

Jamie Kendrick threw a two-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Kendrick.

Willingboro's only score came on a 28-yard pass on the last play of the first half.

The Bruins return to action Saturday when they travel to Corning to meet the Crystal City Dragons. On Sept. 11, the Ocean City Vipers will come to Towanda. Northern Tier concludes the regular season on Sept. 18 at New York Predators.
