North Branch Land Trust River Trip Slated
The 11th annual North Branch Land Trust (NBLT) river trip on the North Branch of the Susquehanna River is slated for Saturday, July 30, beginning at the river access in Meshoppen to the Howland Preserve.
Endless Mountain Outfitters (EMO) will run a morning shuttle leaving at 9:30 a.m. from the Howland Preserve in Vosburg to Meshoppen.
A brief talk about the Howland Preserve is scheduled for 10 a.m., with the river launch for the 9.3-mile paddle set for 10:30 a.m.
Participants should bring binoculars (for eagle viewing), proper footwear for water, sunscreen, insect repellant, snacks, drinking water and lunch.
The boats will stop at an island for a snack and river education.
At the end of the paddle, participants can picnic at the preserve.

Endless Mountain Outfitters offer recreational kayaks ($45), as well as tandem kayaks and canoes ($60), for rent. The rental fee includes personal flotation device and paddles. A lesson on how to kayak will be given. The fees include a donation to NBLT.

Reservations are required.
Participants who bring their own boats will pay a $15 registration fee per boat. Bring the boat to Howland Preserve and EMO will shuttle you either prior to the float or afterwards. If you need livery for your boat from the preserve, there will be a $10 fee.
