Ram JV Gridders Notch First Win
Wyalusing Valley’s Terron Millard scored the game-winning touchdown with less than four minutes to play, to lead the junior varsity football team to a 22-14 win at Wellsboro on Oct. 10.
Millard’s 59-yard scamper with 3:46 left snapped a 14-14 tie and gave the Rams their first win of the year.
Dylan Otis, who had earlier scored on a four-yard run late in the first half, ran in the two-point conversion.
Wellsboro took the early lead on a Mike Pietropola to Kyle Mosso six-yard touchdown pass with 8:12 to play in the first half.
Down 7-0, Wyalusing answered as Tim Kelley went 59 yards for a touchdown a little over a minute later.
Trailing 7-6, Wyalusing took a 14-7 lead into intermission as Otis scored and then added the two-point conversion with 40 seconds left in the half.
In the third quarter, Pietropola found Kieron Smethers for a six-yard touchdown pass, tying the game at 14-14.
Chad Johnson, who had earlier snuffed out a pair of Wellsboro drives with an interception and a fumble recovery, sealed the win with his second interception of the game with 27 seconds remaining to play.
Wyalusing improved to 1-2 with the win.
