Rams Finish Second in NTL Golf Opener
Northern Tioga, paced by T.J. Howe's NTL record 67, won the meet with a score of 423. Kyle Preston added a round of 78 for the winners.
Wyalusing was seven shots back with a score of 430.
Preston Hitchcock paced the Rams with a 78. Drew Fogel shot an 84, followed by Matt Lee (89), Bucky Aeppli (89) and Alex Ochse (90). Craig Fenton's round of 93 wasn't scored.
"I think we opened some eyes," Wyalusing coach John Bradley said.
Rounding out the standings were Sayre (439), Athens (449), Wellsboro (532), Towanda (589), Northeast Bradford (594) and Mansfield (595).
Northeast Bradford was led by Chris Garges with a 92, followed by Jeremy Harvey (109), Jody Keefe (120), Kurtis Benjamin (134) and Tyler Cook (139). Tyler Wheaton had a 143.
Towanda, which faced the possibility of not fielding a team a week ago, was paced by Avery Snell's 87. Sean Mooney added a 100, followed by Mike Foster (122), Derek Hugo (128) and Mitch Bacorn (152).
Athens was led by Ryan Bardo's 75. Jon Dolinich paced Sayre with an 81, Ralph Slyster topped Mansfield with a 98 and Steve Bray led Wellsboro with an 88.
Wyalusing returned to action yesterday with a league meet at Wellsboro.
The match at Sullivan County originally scheduled for today has been rescheduled for Sept. 7.
