Running Roundup: Bandru Wins Elmhurst Boulevard Mile
At Scranton, on Aug. 25, Kevin Bandru was the overall winner of the Elmhurst Boulevard Mile in a time of 5:17, edging runner-up Paul Ohora, who crossed in 5:28.
Taryn Giamento was fifth, overall, to pace the female field in 5:48. Michelle Covington was right behind her in 6:03.
Giants Despair Challenge
At Wilkes-Barre, on Aug. 24, Nick Hilton won the 1.1-mile hillclimb race in 6:42.
Jeffrey Skweirz and Frank Redmond completed the top three in 7:21 and 7:32, respectively.
Kelly Ciravolo was the women’s winner in 8:14. Ali Schappert was second in 8:46. Claudia Camargo-Nero was third in 9:15.
