Running Roundup: Wadas Wins Bernie's Three-Miler
Chris Wadas won the Bernie’s Memorial Three-Mile Run at Wilkes-Barre on July 4.
Wadas’s winning time of 15:09 was over a minute faster than runner-up Chris Ehret, who crossed in 16:13. Bear Maloney was third in 16:18, just edging Jeff Skwierz at the line. Jason Kennedy was fifth in 16:33.
Regan Rome won the women’s run in a time of 17:47.
Deedra Porfirio was second in 18:19, followed by Marina Orrson with 18:25. Kathleen Druther was fourth in 18:41. Amy Rome was fifth in 19:17.
At Lake Winola, on June 25, Matt Chylak won the race in 17:17, followed by Jeff Bachak in 18:26 and Jarrett Higley in 19:21.
Taylor Ross led the female contingent with a time of 21:06. Cassandra Legarski was second in 21:41, followed by Michele Covington in 22:57.
A total of 89 runners and walkers completed the course.
At Nicholson, on June 23, Chris Ehret won the race in 4:42. Justin Clark was second in 5:01, followed by John Kwiatkowski, Jr. in 5:07.
Katie Reilly was the first female to finish, crossing the line in 5:57. Alice Brieta was second in 6:31, followed by Amanda Kinback in 6:37.
