Staff Sergeant Josh Richmond, a native of Hillsgrove, Sullivan County, and member of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, finished third recently in the double trap World Cup competition in Concepcion, Chile.
Richmond made 143 targets in qualifying and hit 46 of 50 targets in the final to finish with a final score of 190.
His finish gives him a leg up on the competition in the U.S. Olympic selection points, pointing toward the 2012 London Olympic Games, having already scored 48 points, exceeding the threshold of 45 points.
Mixed League Results Announced
The results from the Sunday Mixed 8:30 P.M. league at Starlite Lanes from March 13 has been released with the current team standings as follows: Hillside, 70-26; R&N Hunsinger, 60-1/2, 35-1/2; E&G, 56-1/2, 39-1/2; B&L, 44-1/2, 51-1/2; and Nichol's, 39-1/2, 56-1/2.
Individual scoring is as follows: High Womens' Triple: L. Latini, 531; N. Hunsinger, 470; D. Nichols, 430. High Women's Single: L. Latini, 215, 169; N. Hunsinger, 193, 159; D. Nichols, 152. High Men's Triple: R. Hunsinger, 568; E. Latini, 538; E. Mosier, 514; B. Mosier, 505. High Men's Single: E. Latini, 226; R. Hunsinger, 211, 188; B. Mosier, 185; E. Mosier, 185.
Trout Stocking Underway
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission has begun pre-season trout stocking ahead of the opening day, slated for April 16.
Stockings slated for the period of March 17 through March 23 include Snake Creek in Susquehanna County on March 22 and the Little Loyalsock Creek in Sullivan County on March 18.
People wishing to help with the Snake Creek stocking should meet at Emberz Restaurant in Montrose at 1 p.m. The Little Loyalsock Creek stocking will start at 11:30 a.m. in Forksville at the intersection of Rt. 154 and Rt. 87.
