In-Season Trout Stocking Continues

Three area trout streams will be stocked over the next seven days, according to the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.

On May 12, Loyalsock Creek will be stocked with the meeting area slated for the Ranger station on Rt. 87 at 11:15 a.m. Bowman Creek will be stocked on May 16 with the meeting place set for the PennDOT rest area on Rt. 29 at 11 a.m. On May 18, Snake Creek and Gaylord Creek in Susquehanna County will be stocked with the run starting at Emberz Restaurant in Montrose at 1 p.m.

 

DMAP Application Deadline Nears

Landowners wishing to enroll or renew their applications for the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s (PGC) Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP) is June 1.

Applications will be accepted only through the U.S. Postal Service and must be mailed to the PGC Regional Office in which the property is situated. The address for the Northeast Region office, which serves the entire Rocket-Courier readership area, is PO Box 220, Dallas, PA 18612.

 

Hitting, Pitching Camp Slated

The Play Like a Pro Hitting and Pitching Camp, a two-day instructional camp for baseball players, ages 5 through 12, will be held at six locations in the Twin Tiers.

Wellsboro High School head coach Matt Perry, a former pro, and Mansfield University coaches Harry Hillson and assistant Chris Francis, are the instructors for the camps, which are slated for Wellsboro on June 20-21; Sayre on June 22-23; Williamsport on June 27-28; Painted Post, NY, on June 29-30; Bath, NY, on July 5-6, and Elmira on July 7-8.

Each session runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Players will be grouped according to age, ability and prior experience.
