WVHS Summer Track Meets Return
The Wyalusing Track Booster Club will once again host a pair of Summer All-Comers track meets at Peterson Stadium on Thursday, June 30, and Thursday, July 14. Registration for both dates begins at 5:30 p.m. with the first event slated for 6 p.m. There is a $1 entry fee for each event.
The event list includes 50-meter dash, 100-meter dash, 1600-meter run, 400-meter run, 200-meter dash, 800-meter run, a 3200-meter run (on June 30 only) and a 5000-meter run (on July 14). The field events include long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put and javelin.
Age-groups include 5-under, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-17 and 18-up.

District All-Star Football Game Set
Three WVHS seniors are slated to compete in the annual District Four All-Star Football Game, slated for South Williamsport’s Rodney K. Morgans Stadium on Friday, June 24.
Paul Hugo, Bryan Kolodziej and Zach Force are scheduled to play for the North All-Stars in the tilt which benefits the South Williamsport Lions Club.
Fore 81 Tourney Spots Available
There are still a few openings for foursomes wishing to play in the Fore 81 Golf Classic on Friday, June 24, at the Towanda Country Club. According to Brian Keefe, there are spots available for golfers in the Green tournament, which begins at 7:30 a.m. The Gold tournament, which is held in the afternoon, is filled up.
The tournament is the sole fund-raiser for the Bret J. Keefe Memorial Scholarship Fund, which grants scholarships to Wyalusing Valley High School seniors for their college education.
RTL Home Run Derby Slated
The Roosevelt Trail League will hold a Home Run Derby on Friday, June 24, and Saturday, June 25, for the league’s baseball and softball players. A special coaches’ competition will also highlight the event. A total of 92 players and 36 RTL coaches have signed up for the event.
On June 24, tee ball competition will be held at Laceyville’s Donovan Park at 5:30 p.m.
The scene shifts to Wyalusing Borough Park on June 25. Instructional level players will compete at 9 p.m. Minor-level players take their turn at 10, followed by Major players at 11. The Junior players will compete at 12 p.m., and the Coaches’ Challenge is slated for 2.
Clay Target Championships Planned
The Pennsylvania Scholastic Clay Target Program State Championships will be held on Saturday, June 18, at Rock Mountain at 674 Mitchell Road, Meshoppen. The morning competition begins at 9 a.m. and the afternoon action begins at noon.
