Youth Football Sweeps Sayre

The Wyalusing Youth Football and Cheerleading squads traveled to Sayre on Sunday, Sept. 25.  Wyalusing swept the day’s games, winning the A game, 13-6; B game, 13-7; C game, 33-19, and flag football tilt, 24-12.

Wyalusing will travel to Southern Tioga on Sunday, Oct. 2, with flag football action starting at 11:15 a.m.

 

Record Bullhead Caught

Ian Radler, Palmerton, landed a four-pound, 10-ounce brown bullhead catfish while fishing at Beltzville Lake in Carbon County on Aug. 22. The fish broke the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s record for the species. Radler was fishing near the Trachsville Bridge, using cut bait, when he landed the record fish.

The previous record fish, which weighed four pounds, four ounces, was caught in 1983 by Eddie Lasorda at Marsh Creek Lake in Chester County.

 

Mixed League Results Announced

The Sunday Night Mixed League at Starlite Lanes in North Towanda Township announces results after play on Sept. 25.

Team standings are as follows: R&N, 8-0; Allen Construction, 5-1/2, 2-1/2; Hillside, 5-3; Will n Nell, 4-1/2, 3-1/2; E&G, 3-5; Kipp’s, 1-7; A’s, 0-8.

Individual honors are as follows: High Women’s Triple: L. Latini, 550; E. Kipp, 436; G. Mosier, 430; High Women’s Single: L. Latini, 220, 179; E. Kipp, 177; G. Mosier, 177; High Men’s Triple: R. Hunsinger, 559; E. Latini, 475; E. Mosier, 475; and High Men’s Single: R. Hunsinger, 212, 189; E. Latini, 189; S. Allen, 182.
