Junior High Gridders Unbeaten

The Wyalusing Valley junior high football team has opened the season with a 4-0 record, defeating Canton, 30-16; Sayre, 44-0; Lycoming Valley, 46-20, and Muncy, 32-0.

The Little Rams will complete the season with a home game against Athens on Oct. 27 and a road game at Towanda on Nov. 3.


Wyalusing A Team Still Undefeated

The Wyalusing Youth Football and Cheerleading A team remained undefeated with a 40-0 win over Canton on Sunday, Oct. 16. The B team also won, 19-7. Canton won the C game, 7-6, and the flag football game, 21-7.

Wyalusing returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 22, hosting Towanda starting with flag football at 3:15 p.m. at Peterson Stadium.


King of the Can Mods Postponed

Despite the best efforts of race organizers, the King of the Can Modified feature at Penn Can Speedway slated for Sunday, Oct. 16, was postponed because of rain until Nov. 13. Other divisions slated to race were Crate Sportsman and Street Stocks.

However, Saturday’s scheduled slate of races was held at the Susquehanna, PA, facility, led by Jeff Crambo’s win in the Race of Champions Sportsman feature. Other feature winners included Shane Wolf, Jr. (Street Stock), Bud Phillips (Late Model), George Brown (Big Dawg Nationals), Nick Grist (Four Cylinder) and Tommy Martocci (CRSA/TSRS Challenge).


Mixed League Results Announced

The Sunday Mixed 8 P.M. League at Starlite Lanes in North Towanda recently announced results following action on Oct. 16.

The team standings are as follows: R&N, 13-7; Hillside, 12-8; Will n Nell, 11-1/2, 8-1/2; Kipp’s, 11-9; Allen Construction, 10-1/2, 9-1/2; A’s, 8-12; E&G, 5-15.

Individual results are as follows: High Women’s Triple: E.  Kipp, 542; L. Latini, 512; N. Hunsinger, 487; High Women’s Single: L. Latini, 195, 191; E. Kipp, 189, 184, 169; N. Hunsinger, 167; High Men’s Triple: E. Latini, 587; E. Mosier, 519; B. Brown, 514, and High Men’s Single: E. Latini, 215, 203; S. Allen, 186; E. Mosier, 186.


Lackawanna Reservoirs Open for Fishing

Pennsylvania American Water and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission recently announced that five of the company’s reservoirs in Lackawanna County have been opened for public fishing.

The reservoirs opened for anglers are Curtis, Dunmore No. 1, Elmhurst, Griffin and Maple Lake.
