WVHS Junior High Gridders Undefeated

The Wyalusing Valley junior high football team completed an undefeated 6-0 campaign with a 28-6 win at Towanda on Thursday, Nov. 3.

Lucas Jennings scored three touchdowns for the Rams, hauling in touchdown passes of 30 and 38 yards from Ridge Williams and adding a 66-yard scoring run. He also ran in a pair of two-point conversions. Derek Millard added a 48-yard touchdown run for Wyalusing.

Towanda’s Dayton Wickwire scored on a one-yard run for the game’s first score.

 

Volleyball All-Star Game Slated

The Wysox-Towanda Kiwanis NTL Senior Recognition volleyball game will be held at Towanda High School on Tuesday, Nov. 15, beginning at 7 p.m.

 

Elk Lake Grad Swims at Lycoming

Jehiel Boner, an Elk Lake graduate and member of the Lycoming College swim team, competed in two events during a 115-87 loss to Ursinus on Nov. 5.

Boner was fifth in the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:07:05. He also swam the 1,000 freestyle, finishing sixth in 12:36.07.

 

Sixth Grade All-Star Game Held

Wyalusing hosted the Sixth Grade Northern Tier Youth Football League All-Star Game at Peterson Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 5. Organizers hope this game will become an annual event.

The East team, consisting of players from Wyalusing, Towanda and Sayre, defeated the West, which included Troy, Southern Tioga, Canton and Wellsboro, 28-20.

 

WVHS Grad Concludes Season

Wyalusing Valley graduate Bryan Brown, a member of Mansfield University’s sprint football team, had a solo tackle and an assist in a season-ending 21-14 loss at Cornell on Nov. 4.

The Mountaineers finished with a 2-5 record.
