Towanda JVs Defeat Rams
Towanda’s Noah Huff scored three touchdowns and threw for another as the Black Knights defeated the Wyalusing Valley junior varsity, 34-13, at Peterson Stadium on Monday, Nov. 7.
The Black Knights went up 13-0 on the Rams with only one offensive snap to derail Wyalusing’s game plan of pounding the middle of the line with fullback Dylan Otis.
On the first play of the game, Huff, who finished with seven completions for 160 yards, connected with Austin Schoonover for a 69-yard touchdown pass.
Huff stunned the Rams with a 56-yard interception return for a touchdown on Wyalusing’s ensuing possession.
Late in the second quarter, Huff scored on a 20-yard run. Dan Leljedal added a two-point conversion for a 21-0 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Huff scored on a 24-yard run.
Leljedal closed out the scoring for the Black Knights with a six-yard run with 8:52 left to play.
Wyalusing did score a pair of late touchdowns.
Tim Ace capped an 81-yard march with a 41-yard run around right end with 5:37 remaining to play.
With 40 seconds remaining, Jeremy Allyn pulled in a 16-yard touchdown pass from Justin Haley.
Huff finished with 87 yards rushing for Towanda. Schoonover added 65 yards.
Ace led the Rams with 49 yards. Otis finished with 45 yards.
Brandon Davis had an interception for Wyalusing.
The Rams concluded their season with a 3-5 record.
