WVHS Grad Paces Misericordia Golf

Bucky Aeppli, a Wyalusing Valley graduate and member of the Misericordia University golf team, finished second in the Lebanon Valley Invitational on April 4. Aeppli fired a three-under 75 in the spring opener for the Cougars, who finished 11th in the 17-team field that included 96 individual golfers. Caitie Good Good, an Elk Lake graduate and member of the Mansfield track team, placed in two events at the Muhlenberg Invitational on April 2. She finished second in the 200 with a time of 26.43 seconds. Good was third in the 100 with a PSAC qualifying time of 12.97 seconds. Jessica Sekely Sekely, an Elk Lake graduate and member of the East Stroudsburg track team, competed in the hammer throw at the Lafayette Seven-Way meet on April 2. She finished 19th with a distance of 114-9. Colton Schools Schools, a Wyalusing Valley graduate and member of the Susquehanna track team, competed in the pole vault at the Juniata Quad Meet, finishing fifth with a height of 11-5.75. Sarah Hoffman Hoffman, a Wyalusing Valley graduate and member of the Susquehanna softball team, tossed a three-hit shutout in a 3-0 win over Catholic on April 2. She fanned six and walked three in the complete game victory. Baptist Bible Softball Elk Lake graduates Karin Mowry and Kim Caines made contributions in the Lady Defenders’ doubleheader sweep of Philadelphia Biblical on April 2. In the nightcap, a 22-4 Baptist Bible victory, Mowry went four-for-five with four RBIs and three runs. She doubled, tripled and stole a base. Caines singled and scored a run. In the opener, won by Baptist Bible, 9-0, Mowry had two hits, including an RBI double, and scored twice. Caines was hitless in one at-bat.
