WVHS Track: Thinclads Place at Bald Eagle Invitational
Wyalusing Valley’s Erika Huffman finished second in the 800 with a time of 2:23.90 at Lock Haven University’s Bald Eagle Invitational on April 22.
She also finished sixth in the 400 with a time of 1:03.88.
Abby Fogel added a sixth-place finish against a very strong field in the 3200 with a time of 11:53.37.
In the boys’ meet, Tucker Allyn and Aaron Johnson were both two-time place winners.
Allyn was seventh in the high jump (5-7), while Johnson placed eighth in the 200 (24.29).
They joined Ryan Miller and Lewis Adams to finish eighth in the 400 relay (46.96).
Towanda Meet Shortened
Lightning during Tuesday’s meet at Towanda forced the meet to be called before completion.
Wyalusing won the boys’ meet, 56-35, while the Lady Rams prevailed, 76-21.
In the boys’ events that were completed, Dan Frankenfield was a two-time winner, capturing the 110 hurdles (17.72) and 300 hurdles (45.38).
Other solo winners included Allyn in the high jump (5-10), Tracey LaFrance in the shot put (41-4.5) and Adams in the long jump (18-4). The 3200 relay team also won in 9:11.44.
In the girls’ meet, Jessica Hotaling and Kaitlyn Faulkner were both two-time winners.
Hotaling won the 100 (14.0) and 400 (1:01.13).
Faulkner captured the 100 hurdles (17.3) and 300 hurdles (52.43).
Lindsay Schulze won the long jump (14-2). Fogel won the 1600 (5:42.32).
Wyalusing also won the 3200 relay (10:50.62) and 400 (53.69).
