WVHS Track: Thinclads Split at Hughesville

The Wyalusing Valley track team opened the season with a split of a dual-meet at Hughesville on March 29.

Tyler Sutton and Stephan Tewksbury were each three-time winners, leading the Rams to an 88-62 win in the boys' competition.

Hughesville won the girls' meet, 90-60, despite a three-win effort by Abby Fogel.

In the boys' meet, Sutton, Tewksbury, Ryan Hart and Jordan Knapp combined to win the 3200 relay in 9:52.

Sutton also won the 400 (57.6) and joined Knapp, Eric Fenton and Adam Brigham to win the 1600 relay (4:03).

Tewksbury won the 1600 (5:02) and 3200 (11:06).

Hart and Dan Frankenfield joined Knapp as two-time winners. Hart had a solo win in the 800 (2:27). Frankenfield swept the hurdles, winning the 110 (18.7) and 300 (46.9).

In the field events, Tucker Allyn won the javelin (141-3), Tracey LaFrance took the discus (108-7/8), and Aaron Johnson captured the long jump (17-3).

Fogel won the 1600 (5:55) and 3200 (12:32) and joined JoAnna McGee, Jessica Hotaling and Erika Huffman to win the 3200 relay (10:37).

Huffman added a solo win in the 800 (2:30).

Other winners included Kaitlyn Faulkner in the long jump (15-0), Erin Dean-Swank in the discus (72-10) and Alexis Daly in the shot put (29-10).

Wyalusing is scheduled to host Northeast Bradford tonight (March 31).
