The 200-year-old tree planted by town father Rufus Kingsley in the yard of his homestead took a hard hit, said current resident Rebecca Mordent, who lives there with her husband, Joe and family. “Hopefully, we’ll only need a new roof,” she added. “And of course electricity.” The power lines were ripped right off the house, Mordent said. Penelec crews were spotted throughout the region.
